Knitting therapy!

Every year when the cold hits, it makes me wanna cuddle with some woolly things! I am obsessed with hats and scarves. Colorful hats and scarves can elevate a simple, casual outfit. Just the other day, I saw these beautiful, pastel pink and beige wools in a store and I could not help myself but bought a bunch of them.

Logically I needed to pull out my knitting needles again.

I am sure you are surprised how I found the time to knit. The answer is you can and you will! If there is something you wanna do, don't let time be your obstacle. Sleep a little less and you can do a little more. That is my philosophy!

I am gonna give you a headsup though: Knitting is addictive! You will find yourself doing stitch after stitch and once you are able to proudly wear the finished products, you will want to make another one!

Now, that is the curse of a handcrafter. Or a blessing?

I first knitted just a scarf and then finished off with a neck wrap around it, so that I can make sure I stay warm and protect my throat in the chilly wind. The neck wrap can also be used as a headband. Who doesn't love things multi purpose? The tassels are also my first timer!

After 5 days of knitting in between jobs and sleep, I was soooooo happy that I finally got it done. Then my boyfriend said to me, ''oh you can knit a hat just like that?'' I rolled my eyes @_@ and said, 'yeah technically!' He jumped to his offering of fulfilling my creativity, 'It would be cool if you could knit me a hat!'

I have never knitted a hat before so I took the challenge gracefully. Thanks to Google,  I found another way of knitting, which is crocheting. But having no previous knowledge of the crochet book, it is a whole new ball game I had to learn. So I went back to my knitting needles, and went with Plan B.

The hat came out nicely despite of it being a little tight, and I think it has to do with the wool I picked, which is not very stretchy. But all and all, he seems to love the color and the new hat (or at least he says he does).

I find knitting very soothing and good for our souls. Instead of watching silly TV, why not pick up some needles to start stitching? At least something great will come out by the end of it :) It can be your next healing therapy!

I told you a little earlier in this article, knitting is addictive. So I made myself a quick headband with some of the left over wool to match the scarf. As girly as it sounds, it was so satisfying and easy to make too.
I tied the wool and wrapped it a few times tightly to go with a more vintage look.

So what do you think? Will you consider picking up some knitting gears? My favorites are the wooden ones. What are yours? Share if you are a knitter!
